Hurricane Katrina wreaked havoc on the historic structures of New Orleans and the Gulf Coast. Chaux Vive has participated in the rebuilding of our devastated communities in a number of ways:
  • Post-hurricane condition assessments of St. Louis Cemetery No. 1, St. Louis Cemetery No. 2, Lafayette Cemetery No. 1, Holt Cemetery, Metairie Cemetery, and Cypress Grove Cemetery. The reports are available here on the Save Our Cemeteries website.
  • Survey of hurricane affected historic districts with R. Christopher Goodwin & Associates.
  • Survey of post-hurricane condition of historic buildings in New Orleans.
  • Repair of hurricane damaged tombs in Lafayette Cemetery No. 1, both for private families and non-profit organizations.
  • Consultation on hurricane damanged historic buildings on the Gulf Coast of Mississippi, including Beauvoir in Biloxi and the De La Pointe-Krebs House (aka the Old Spanish Fort) in Pascagoula.
