PROJECT in PROGRESS
Chaux Vive is executing a multi-tomb preservation project at St. John’s Cemetery in Thibodaux, LA. Associated with St. John’s Episcopal Church, the cemetery is a mix of above ground tombs of brick and mortar, several large tombs in granite and marble, as well as smaller burial sites marked with marble tablets. The site is primarily known for being the burial ground of Louisiana’s Governor Nicholls. As part of the project, various tombs are being stabilized, marble monuments cleaned, areas of missing stucco patched, and several tombs will be limewashed.
